How to Apply
Applicants to Temple/St. Luke's medical school campus must first apply to Temple University School of Medicine through the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS).
AMCAS application deadline: December 15 of the year preceding matriculation.
After receiving a verified application from AMCAS, the Temple admissions office will send the applicant an email with instructions for accessing a supplemental application at TempleMedOnline. On the supplemental application, Temple/St. Luke's applicants should mark St. Luke's as the first choice.
The Admissions Office only reviews applications that are completed. A complete application includes:
- AMCAS application
- Supplemental application
- Supplemental fee
- Letters of recommendation
- Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) scores
Admissions officers review all applications. Temple/St. Luke's applicants who meet Temple's screening requirements are then referred to the Temple/St. Luke's admissions office in Bethlehem which schedules interviews at St. Luke's. Interview day activities include a meet-and-greet session, a campus tour, lunch with some of our current students and two interviews. Temple/St. Luke's applicants are encouraged to visit Temple's North Broad Street Campus in Philadelphia to tour those facilities and to meet with the financial aid coordinator.
Temple received more than 10,000 applications last year. Of these, about a thousand applicants were invited to interview.
Temple has high standards. However, the standards are not rigid or purely quantitative. In selecting candidates for interview, the admissions committee looks for academic achievement, strong MCAT scores, meaningful medical experience, commitment to community service, and supportive letters of recommendation.
